Motion and transitions

Move, scale and turn a clip, dissolve between clips, and move a camera over the edit.

What it is

In Edit, select a clip and open its Motion tab to move, scale, turn, crop or fade it, with keys that ease from one to the next. Tap the + on a cut for a dissolve or a dip to black. Put a second video over the first from Add video, as picture in picture. The Camera lane moves over the whole edit: a slow push in to the moment that matters.

How to use it

  1. In Edit, select a clip and choose Motion.
  2. Move the playhead, then drag the picture or change a value: Keln adds a key there.
  3. Move the playhead again and change it again; it eases between the two.
  4. Tap + on a cut for a transition, or the Camera lane for a move over everything.

Notes

Notes mode Pause on a moment, draw on it, say what you see. Make a reel The moments your notes are on, back to back, as a new video. Pen Draw freehand on a paused frame. Arrow Point at what matters, on a frame or following the athlete. Line A straight edge on a paused frame. Circle Ring what matters, on a frame or following the athlete. Label A few words on the picture, on a frame or following the athlete. Spotlight Dim everything but what matters. Zoom and Magnifier Ease into part of the picture, or keep a close-up in a corner.

Analyse

Analyse mode Follow the athlete, measure, time and compare, while the video plays. Angle Measure a joint, on a frame or live while it plays. Following a point Tap the athlete, the ball or a joint, and Keln follows it frame by frame. Path The line the athlete, the bar or the ball takes. Distance and the scale Measure between two points, in metres once the scale is set. Speed How fast a point moves, in m/s, km/h or mph. Timer A stopwatch on the picture, with laps. Guides A plumb line, a level line or a grid over the picture. Slow down The moment at the playhead plays slower, easing in and out. Ghost Another rep, or a demo, over this one, see-through. Side by side Another video next to this one, in step. Mirror Flip the clip, to compare one side with the other. Strobe One picture of the movement's phases.

Edit

Edit mode Cut, trim, slow down, hold a frame, bring in other videos. Chapters Name the parts of a video, so anyone watching can go straight to one. Shape for social Upright, square or portrait, with the frame kept on the athlete.
